We would like to welcome Coach Josh to the NTX Kings!
After serving 8 years in the Marine Corps, Josh began his coaching with Tri-Cities Baseball/Softball Association, which lead him to grow from there and become a member of the board of directors. Josh comes to the Kingdom with 10 years of youth coaching experience. He loves to help the players get a full perspective of the game and their potential impact. Coach Josh believes that in order to help players improve, he is always looking for ways to improve his perspective and knowledge.
His eager to grow has lead Coach Josh to find ways to learn the game from different perspectives, reading, podcasts, stepping into umpiring, and attending conventions just to name a few. If you are looking to expand your baseball knowledge, Coach Josh would recommend that you read The Mathney Manifesto, check out Dugout Chatter on podcast to hear great coaches share a lifetime of knowledge, and lastly Coach Josh believes everyone should go to the ABCA conference when it comes back to Dallas!!
Coach Josh has developed a passion for the art of catchers position, completing the Todd Coburn, The Catching Guy Certification Program when he noticed the lack of knowledge and development from coaches to their catchers. The catcher can make or break a team, so training that position is vital.
When Coach Josh isn't coaching or umpiring, he enjoys hitting the lake with the family and sending his boys flying off the tube while his wife, Kelly, grabs some great videos and pictures.
